Business Check

Business Check Bulk API

Business Check Bulk runs the Business Check for up to 100 ABNs or ACNs in a single call. Each number is answered on its own with the combined ABR and ASIC record, so a supplier or customer file can be checked in one pass.

  • Up to 100 numbers per request, each looked up exactly as the single Business Check would
  • A check_id echoed on each result, and an invalid number carries its own error instead of failing the batch
For developers

What the check gives you

Checking a file of Australian businesses in one pass

A periodic review of a supplier or customer file does not suit one call per business. Business Check Bulk takes up to 100 numbers in one request and returns a result for each, with the same combined record a single Business Check would, so statuses and name histories can be written back to the file in one operation.

A result for every number sent

The results array holds one item per request item, each with the combined record or an empty match.

Your own reference on each result

A check_id of up to 255 characters supplied on a request item is echoed on the matching result.

An invalid number does not fail the batch

An item whose number is not a valid ABN or ACN carries an error string, such as The number is not a valid ACN. The rest of the batch is answered as normal.

The full record for each match

Each match carries the name, type, ABN and ACN with statuses, GST registration, address, ASIC dates, recent documents and name history.

How a check runs

Many subjects in, one answer per subject out

The list is sent as one request. Each number is looked up against the ABR and ASIC on its own and the results come back together in the same response.

The request holds between 1 and 100 items, each with an ABN or ACN and an optional check_id.

What it costs

A monthly subscription, drawn down as you run checks

Your subscription is credited to your account each month and each check consumes credits from it. If you go past the included amount, further checks are charged at a per-check rate. The rate depends on the volume you commit to, so the sales team is the fastest way to find where your business lands.

  • Pay as you go available
  • No lock-in contract
How billing works
Subscribe monthly, spend it as credits
  • The monthly subscription arrives as credits on your account.
  • Each check draws down credits as it runs.
  • Checks beyond the included credits are billed per check.
  • Higher monthly volume moves you to a lower rate.

Questions

Questions we get asked about Business Check Bulk

Do we need a developer to implement this?
Yes. The endpoint takes a JSON array of up to 100 numbers and returns a JSON array of results, so a developer connects it to your data pipeline or review job. A sandbox with a deterministic test dataset is provided at no usage cost, so the integration can be built and tested before production keys are issued.
What does our system need to send?
A requests array of 1 to 100 items, each with an 11-digit ABN or 9-digit ACN and an optional check_id.
What comes back for each number?
The check_id from the request, an error string where the number was not valid, and the combined ABR and ASIC record, or an empty array where neither register holds the number.
How large a file can we process?
Each request takes up to 100 numbers. The API allows 600 requests per minute by default, measured as a rolling average, and returns a 429 response above that rate. A higher limit can be requested through Global Data support.
Are the numbers we send stored by Global Data?
Personally identifiable information sent in a request is not stored or retained unless it is needed to process that request. Query data is stripped of PII before it is kept for audit. Data in transit and at rest is encrypted, and retention follows the Australian Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles. Global Data is not a credit bureau and does not create an access footprint on any record.
Getting started
