Insurance
Insurers use our data to verify policyholders, keep contact records current and look deeper when a claim doesn't add up. Life insurers also carry AML/CTF obligations, which WatchEye handles.
What the regulator requires of you
Life insurance and investment products are designated services under the AML/CTF Act; general insurance is outside it. These apply to the life side of the business.
Identify your customers
Applicable customer identification before the service is provided, with extra scrutiny for politically exposed persons and higher-risk customers.
Screen against watchlists
Checks against sanctions lists and PEP data, at onboarding and whenever lists change.
Report suspicious matters
SMRs within 24 hours for suspected terrorism financing, 3 business days for other suspicions. Threshold transactions of A$10,000 or more within 10 business days.
Maintain an AML/CTF program
A documented, board-approved program with a risk assessment, a compliance officer, staff training and periodic independent review.
How our products cover this
The API covers policy and claims systems; Caspar and WatchEye cover the manual work.
Verification and enrichment inside policy systems
Verify a policyholder at quote or claim time, refresh contact details on renewal, and check deceased status before correspondence goes out.
